Some people think that work is meant to be a punishment inflicted on us by God for the original
disobedience of Adam and Eve. Catholics believe that we, made in the image and likeness of
God, are meant by Him to be co-creators of His creation. Our task, through work, is to build up
His kingdom here on earth.
